Java Developer III

Duration: 6 months (this is a contract to hire role)

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios.
• Continuously improve software engineering practices - Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies.
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions.
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community.
• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
• Lead and/or mentor a team of engineers

Additional Responsibilities:

• Work as part of a dynamic team throughout the software development life cycle
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and analysts to implement enhancements or new applications
• Develop code to meet story acceptance criteria

• Conduct design and code review to ensure compliance with standards
• Create automated test suites to validate the quality of your code

• Own technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems
• Work with Product Owner to understand the business problems and design solutions
• Collaborate with other platforms tech leads to ensure integrated end-to-end design and delivery
• Understand how evolving technology affects domain; stays current and leads team through new technologies
• Responsible for key system design and integration decisions; and for communicating decisions to individuals implementing the system
• Lead team to provide L3 support as needed for the application in Production
• Designing applications for automated monitoring and alerting

Skills/Experience:

• Seeking full stack engineer with 2+ years of Java experience (REQUIRED)
• Cloud services/AWS experience would be a big plus
• Mongo experience a plus
• Spring experience a plus

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience
• At least 2 years of experience in Technology
• At least 2 years of software development experience using Java EE technologies
• At least 2 years of experience in developing RESTful APIs
• At least 1 year of experience with cloud services (AWS) configuration and administration
• At least 2 years of experience in DevOps technologies
• At least 2 years of experience in a large-scale and critical system implementation, high transaction volume, high-availability concepts
• At least 1 years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation and delivery

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree
• 2+ years of SDLC experience using Java EE technologies for Middleware and Backend Integration
• 2+ years of hands on experience in developing RESTful APIs using Spring or Jersey and taking it all the way to production
• 2+ years experience in Build and CICD technologies GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus or Sonar
• 2+ years experience in Quality Assurance technologies ATDD, Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit, SoapUI and Postman
• 2+ years experience with production releases and providing Level 3 support
• 2+ years experience with Open-Source or public GitHub projects
• 2+ years experience in Cloud technologies AWS, Docker, Ansible, Chef or Terraform, Jenkins
• 2+ years experience with Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban
• 1+ years experience building SOAP, ReSTful web services and writing clients for webservices with Spring and/or Jersey API
• XML , XSLT
• 1+ years experience with Junit testing development and code quality tools
• Sun Certified Java Programmer, Sun Certified Java Developer, Spring framework certification, or AWS certification
• 1+ year of experience in developing a continuous delivery pipeline

Additional Information:

• Strong potential of conversion for the right candidate; must be currently eligible to work in the US
• No flexibility in location (must work in West Creek 8)
• 1st round video interview preferred (open to phone interview if necessary), 2nd round onsite interview in West Creek 8.
