Our client is looking for a DevOps Engineer with the following skill set:

Required Skills & Experience

  • Must have experience of infrastructure as code using Terraform - must have strong PowerShell knowledge.
  • Must have experience of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment tools with Azure DevOps.
  • Must have Ansible or similar configuration management experience
  • Must have experience of continuous deployment release strategies.
  • Must have experience of building, deploying, supporting, scaling and operating immutable cloud applications in Azure.
  • Must have experience of Azure Cloud Networking (VPC/VPN/Direct Connect)

Desirable:

  • Experience of containers and containerised workloads
  • Kubernetes
  • Service Mesh (e.g. Istio)
  • Prometheus
  • Relational or Non-Relational Database Technologies
  • Chocolatey package creation

Here at Hays Technology, I am recruiting for Application Developer - IBM Cloud Migration working remotely for our global client IBM on a 13-month (thirteen) contract (inside IR35) on £470pd starting in October 2021.

What you will be working on:
As part of a scrum team you will be working on one of the most strategic deliverables DWP's integration department are working on. They have derived an event driven architecture base on the new application reference architecture that has been approved and this project is at the heart of it and a team are already working on this deliverable and are looking for engineers with Kafka skills to hit the ground running and contribute to their delivery and positive team culture.

Who you will be working for:
Our client IBM are working on a major DWP implementation of a new application reference architecture, this team are already underway developing.

What we are looking for:

  • You will have a knowledge of configuring, monitoring, maintaining and supporting a Kafka cluster (Zookeeper, Kafka Brokers, Schema Registry)
  • You will have experience of using Packer & Ansible to build AWS AMI's
  • You will have working knowledge of Terraform to provision EC2 instances, setup security groups, & IAM roles


What you'll get in return
On offer is an initial 13 (thirteen) months Contract, paying £470.50 per day inside of IR35. This role is currently based remotely but will be moving to fully office based in Newcastle in the future.

I am currently looking for a number of AWS DevOps Engineers to join a boutique consultancy working on cutting edge solutions in the public sector.

Successful engineers will help lead the migration of infrastructure and applications to AWS for a secure batch/real-time analytical platform for a government client leveraging the latest commercial and open source technology.
