Spectrum IT's established client are seeking an experienced Contract Senior DevOps Engineer to join their busy Woking office for an initial 6 Months. Joining a newly formed strategic team, the successful candidate will be reporting into the Service Delivery Manager and be responsible for an Angular Developer within the shift team.

This contract role offers part remote work with alternating working weeks: week 1 working in the office (9am - 5pm) and week 2 working remote (4pm-11pm).

While working within an Agile environment you will work with a team consisting of Developers, Scrum Masters and Designers to play a key role in the companies new strategy.

Education/Years of Experience:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or MIS.
  • At least 5 years of experience using Ruby and/or Rails
  • 1 – 3 years of experience using React, Docker, and AWS
Related Skills and Other Requirements:
  • Ruby developer who values code simplicity and readability.
  • Experience with Git, Docker, AWS Ruby SDK
  • Experience with RESTful web services design, development and automated testing

  • Write technical documentation (software architecture, usage instructions, …)
  • Proactively suggest and promote new methodologies and technologies within the team
  • Write and maintain tests and other quality-centred automated processes

Profile

  • Mandatory experience with
    • Java 8+
    • SpringBoot
  • Experience with most of the following
    • SOA (REST-based micro-services)
    • Test driven development / behaviour-driven development
    • Collaborative development (Gitflow, peer reviewing)
    • Java (JSE, Maven)
    • Web/mobile development (web standards, EcmaScript, …)
    • SQL
    • Continuous Integration/delivery (Jenkins, Ansible, Docker)
  • Will to learn, maintain and evolve existing codebase
  • Excellent personal inter-relational capabilities, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Ability to use creativity and critical thinking while designing pragmatic solutions

Communication Skills
