Network Security Engineer (only W2) (Remote)

Position : Senior Network Engineer

Location : Rockville, MD (100% remote)

Duration : 6+ months contract

Must have Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree PLUS 7 years experience with configuration, support, and analysis for Cloud computing networks
• Big-IP F5 LTM4200, BIP-IP LTM cloud edition Appliances management and configuration
• Checkpoint Firewalls management and configuration: for R80.10,R80.20, R80.30, R80.40, and older version of Checkpoint firewalls, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, STP, VLAN, VTP, LACP , IDS/IPS utilizing Checkpoints 4200, 4600, 4800, and 12200 Secure Platform OS
• Installs, configures, and maintains the organization's AWS Cloud strategy, AWS VPC including transitive VPC, Direct Connect, VGW,VPN,IPSEC, Security groups, Network ACL, ASM, Oracle Cloud experience

JOB DESCRIPTIO N:

• The role of the Senior Network Engineer is to manage a dynamic AWS cloud-based network consisting of network resources that support multi-tiered HA/Clustered AWS Transit Routing, Firewalls, Load balancers and Monitoring capabilities using various Cloud services within AWS.
• This role involves coordinating with department team to plan, design, and schedule the release of all software and hardware updates and upgrades, working as a member of large technical team responsible for the design, development and implementation (DDI) of Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS).
• Working remotely within the United States is acceptable for this position.
• You will be working with various technology solutions:
• Routing: Cisco Switches, Cisco Routers, and Cisco, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, RIP, PBR, Route-Filtering, Redistribution, Summarization, Static Routing and Multicast Routing
• LAN/WAN Technologies: Ethernet, Frame Relay, MPLS VPN, HDLC, PPP, T1, T3, OC Standard
• Protocols: IP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, NAT, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, IPsec ,SSL, HTTP, SSH, SIP, RTP, QoS AAA Architecture: RADIUS
• Security: Not limited to Audit/SIEM Solution (such as IPS/IDS, Anti-virus, Nessus scanning, vulnerability management, etc.)
• Monitoring Solutions: (such as NAGIOS, Opmanager ,tcpdumps, Wireshark tools, etc.)
• Bachelors Degree and 7+ years experience with configuration, support, and analysis for Cloud computing networks
• Big-IP F5 LTM4200, BIP-IP LTM cloud edition Appliances management and configuration

• Recommend and implement network infrastructure related equipment
• Provide strategic system, network and infrastructure analysis
• Provide strategic direction and management related to network infrastructure
• Programming and configuring firewalls on a multilayered network infrastructure
• Configure and troubleshoot network security, and firewalls infrastructure
• Enhancing and supporting large scale network infrastructure monitoring and support (WAN/LAN)
• Ensure monitoring and alerting of network infrastructure devices and related systems
• Develop appropriate written network security procedures and processes that addresses client devices and network infrastructure equipment
• Enhance capabilities of the network
• Configure, and manage the network infrastructure in a Cisco environment
• Maintain documentation of the overall network topology, equipment inventory, and the configuration of network infrastructure devices
• Secure network products and services
• Troubleshoot and resolve network problems
• Develop high-level network strategies
• Understanding network components and capabilities
• Configure and maintain existing network infrastructure and security systems, Knowledge of Cisco and other network hardware solutions
• Engineer the network infrastructure and security solution based on client guidelines and requirements
• Plan and deploy infrastructure security measures
• Plan and organize technical infrastructure projects
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, resolve hardware, software, network and infrastructure problems
