Title : Cloud Engineer or Networking engineer only USC and GC
Location – East Coast (remote)

Duration : 6-12 months

Functional Responsibilities

  • Have a solid understanding of cloud platform networking capabilities, including load balancers, web application firewalls, network access control lists (NACLs), security groups, routing, tracing, DNS resolution are key to building efficient and stable solutions that prevent business downtime and provide high availability capabilities.
  • First hand experience in designing Public Cloud environments like AWS and Azure for large scale enterprise environments; experience with Microsoft's Cloud based services i.e. ExpressRoute
  • Experience in designing and implementing enterprise network solutions in data center and branch office environments including routing, switching and wireless LAN technologies; application networking and delivery technologies (data center server and global load balancing solutions); WAN, Internet connectivity & related technologies (MPLS, IPSEC VPN, WAN Optimizers, Rate Limiters, QoS, etc.); Infrastructure Services (DNS, DHCP and Active Directory); Network Monitoring & Management Platforms (Monitoring – Operations, Management – Data Network Domain)
  • Exposure to various facets of converged data center and branch office build-out including planning, designing and implementation of facilities and structured cabling solutions
  • Experience in evaluating, designing and implementing multi-vendor global WAN networks for integrated (voice, video, data) traffic using various connectivity means including MPLS, IPSEC VPN and others
  • First-hand knowledge in designing network security solutions to enable integration of virtual and cloud computing environments
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in networking and web standards such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, HTTP, web security, switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls is required
  • Ability to create technical documents that provide insight into the design and implementation of a solution provides teams with the ability to effectively communicate their needs and requirements across the organization

Knowledge and Skills Requirement

  • Deep knowledge of Azure public cloud such NVA, UDR, Cisco Fire Power, Versa, preferring certifications at the architect, solutions associate, expert, platform and infrastructure, or developer level.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification(s) desired
  • AWS and/or Azure solution architecture, design and implementation experience
  • Experience working in a datacenter environment, with hybrid cloud environment a plus
  • In depth knowledge of Windows/Linux Server Operating Systems implementation and administration
  • Monitoring and alerting tools, both cloud-native, third-party and custom (CMP)
  • Cloud-based backup/recovery strategies and solutions
  • ITIL foundations knowledge or IT operations background
  • Having some knowledge and experience with security policies and best practices, understanding firewalls, encryption, and event management which could include audit logging. Being able to understand and leverage tools such as Splunk or similar log aggregation solutions to ensure that proper traceability is in place in case any proof or troubleshooting is required.
  • Understanding of topics such as Windows Authentication, Single Sign-on (SSO), API access and authentication, and Federated Access (SAML, OAuth) is key to being able to build small to large scale enterprise applications and solutions. The engineer is expected to have at least a basic idea of each one of these aspects of identify and access management to ensure that proper solutions and designs are being implemented at the core infrastructure level to help support those applications that would end up being deployed by the application teams
