Technical EDI Developer - Remote

$45 - $50/hourRemote

Technical EDI Developer is responsible for participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle, typically for an assigned business unit, client program, or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

1. Receipt of X12 claims and enhancing existing EDI system to pre-process and route the claims to the Digital Platform;

2. Implementation of a web services-based platform to pull in claims for pricing, route claims for editing, route claims for pricing, return claims to the EDI system for routing back to 3rd Party Payer. Logging of events as claims are processed through the system will be required. Additionally, a web UI may be needed to present logging data around the workflow.

· Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements.

· Collaborates with engineers and graphic designers, analyzes and classifies complex change request and reviews and evaluates possible enhancements.

· Works with development team to develop and define application scope and objectives and prepare functional and/or technical specifications.

· Analyzes and evaluates detailed business and technical requirements.

· Codes and maintains complex components of information systems.

· Mentors others on coding standards and performs code reviews.

· Develops and performs system testing and fixes defects identified during testing and re-executes unit tests to validate results.

· Aids in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation and support of project efforts.

· Provides on call support and monitors the system and identifies system deficiencies.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

· Minimum two years of full-time experience analyzing health care related data in a health-care environment.

· Experience with HIPAA data transaction required

· Must be able to work independently and to attend to detail.

· Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, SQL and Access. Ability to run Access queries required.

· Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong project management and data analysis skills.
