DevOps Engineer

DevOps engineer is an important stake holder in the product development process. We believe the best outcome of the DevOps is to increase the effective velocity of the engineering team and also increase our ability to ship faster with fault tolerant and scalable infrastructure. DevOps Engineers at ThinkHR develop and execute extensive automated scripts to ensure product deploys on a daily basis. DevOps engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment. You will also review system requirements and track cost metrics.

Ultimately, you should participate all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet our SLAs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of a healthy mix of Development, System Administration, System Engineering, Database Administration, and/or Technical
  • Operations
  • 2+ years of DevOps experience with AWS services (e.g. RDS, Cloufront, S3, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, Cloudwatch). Strong understanding of Docker and container orchestrator such as ECS and Kubernetes.
  • Strong infrastructure automation management experience using tools such as AWS Cloudformation, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
  • Strong understanding of CDN, Proxy, SSL/TLS, TCP/IP and WAF. Experience with Linux, Apache, Nginx and building Linux systems.
  • Interest in building innovative SaaS-based systems, and reliable service-oriented architectures
  • Excellent understanding of data structures, algorithms, software engineering design patterns and principles
  • Solid understanding of Git and GitHub
  • Excellent communication skills and detail-oriented.
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements

CRITICAL CRITERIA:

  • Must have experience with CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, Codebuild, Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, Git, etc.)
  • Experience with Python, Bash/Shell Scripting
  • Experience with both SQL (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL technologies (e.g. DynamoDB, Redis)
  • Comfortable with a fast moving organization using Continuous Integration and the Continuous Deployment/Delivery deployment model.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage priorities, and stay organized and focused
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or similar (or equivalent experience)

Salary: $112,746.00 to $143,000.00 /year
