Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a QA Automation Test Engineer for an initial 6 month contract based in Edinburgh on a rate of c.£350-450/day (outside of IR35).
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Test Manager/Lead for the work stream.
Creation and maintenance of automated tests cases/scripts and test suites within an automation framework, to enable rapid retesting and regression testing of the solution under test.
Liaison will be required with developers, testers and solutions architects.
Execution of automated test suits, first line investigation, raising of issues, and retesting where required. Standard progress and issue reporting.
Requirements:
Experience of working as an automation test engineer working as part of an Agile Delivery Team.
Experience testing JAVA WebSphere applications.
Demonstrable experience of risk based test approaches.
Experience with the use of automation tools (and frameworks) - Selenium, C#, Cucumber, JMeter .
Strong backend testing skills - conversant in databases (DB2), SQL knowledge, creation of test data.
Experience of REST APIs and test harnesses.
Strong critical thinking and analysis skills to determine the tests required for a solution, where it can be most efficiently tested and what key tests are suitable to be automated.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience of configuration management tools such as GIT.
Desirable Skills:
Experience of Testing applications on AWS an advantage.
Experience of JIRA, QTest or similar tooling.
Working knowledge of Linux and/or VBA would be useful.
