Job Description

What you’ll do:

As a Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for blazing new trails for software patterns and processes and build bridges behind to allow others to leverage the newfound knowledge. You’ll work collaboratively across the organization to enhance Pinnacol’s platforms. You may mentor junior level Software Engineers to elevate the performance of the team.

What you can expect:

  • Write software that satisfies business requirements and follows applicable coding standards
  • Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specification, standards and programming
  • Be able to individually contribute to a team with a focus on learning the processes, patterns, and standards in place
  • Maintain code to enhance functionality, improve efficiency and replace malfunctioning or obsolete code, following team standards, defined patterns and industry standards
  • dentify system or program problems efficiently and effectively and propose pragmatic solutions.
  • Test programs to ensure they meet business requirements and functionally work well, following testing standards
  • Participate in deployment and configuration management processes as necessary
  • Create design documents that satisfy business requirements, follow adopted methodologies and lead to efficient, easy to maintain, and reliable systems
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
  • Leverage internal and external resources for learning and focus on what is pertinent to organization’s needs
  • Remain current on knowledge and skills necessary for software development, including programming tools, development techniques and related technologies.

The candidate should be able to design and create database tables and structures, database views, functions and stored procedures, while maintaining data quality and security. Required: • Development of Information Technology solutions 7+ • Microsoft SQL 2012 or newer – 7+ years • C#.NET – 7+ Years • ASP.NET 3.5 or greater with MVC – 7+ Years • UI Design (HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery) – 3+ Years • ASP.NET CORE MVC – 3+ years • Visual Studio 2017 or newer – 3+ Years • Azure DevOps Job Duties/Responsibilities: • Develop enhancements or new features using C#, VB, ASP.NET MVC, .NET CORE, ADO.NET, AJAX, jQuery, JavaScript, XML, CSS3, HTML5 and Visual Studio 2015 or newer • Design a SQL database, tables, views. Write database functions and stored procedures. • Participates in structured code reviews / walkthroughs. • Executes all required process steps. • Creates and provide content for operational documentation to Technical Writers. • Utilizes configuration management tools, design tools, debugging tools, and any other • environment specific tools necessary to create, test, and implement an application. • Work in an agile team environment. • Manage and complete assigned tasks in Azure DevOps • Strong communication skills; both written and spoken • All positions are onsite positions. The remote work is to be considered temporary, due to the Coronavirus. All positions are required to report on site immediately if/when restrictions are lifted. • All positions will have a 37.5 hour work week. Overtime is not permitted without prior permission from the  Officer, Tom Diecidue. • The Conservation and Delivery Center requires resources to reside within 100 miles of the worksite for the following reasons: o They will be required to report onsite on or before the agreed upon start date to receive a computer/laptop and other essential items. o They may be required to be onsite for emergencies and/or any other unexpected issues that may arise.
