Spencer Ogden are looking for Java developers to join a 12 month big data project (+extension) based in London. We are looking for developers with strong experience in designing and building from scratch, rather than just developing.
Essential Skills:
- 5+ years hardcore coding (any language)
- Practical experience in data analysis and processing
- Deep knowledge of relational databases + SQL (any RDBMS)
- Good knowledge of Linux
- Ability to quickly pick up new technologies
- Lateral thinker
- Fluent English
Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
- Java

- Apache Spark
- Apache Hadoop + ecosystem
- Amazon Web Services (EC2, Lambda, S3, Kinesis, EMR, RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, CloudFront)
- Practical experience with RESTful Web Services
- Deep knowledge of web security
- Good knowledge of front-end technologies and tools (HTML, CSS, - Javascript, React, Angular, Bootstrap, Foundation, Sass)
- Basic UI/UX experience
