Fullstack PHP Developer (Remote)

We’re a software development company looking to expand our team with another smart, good-hearted teammate.

We’re seeking an experienced Fullstack PHP developer, ideally but not necessary to be located in Albuquerque. You should have experience creating intuitive, efficient and robust MySQL architecture, and be familiar with Laravel and/or other PHP frameworks as well as frontend tools (HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript).

You must be a friendly person, enjoy working as part of a team, and be comfortable with and committed to using modern communication and project management tools. It's great if you're comfortable interacting with clients, but that's not a must.

If you have experience with other programming languages and tools that’s fantastic as well. We build software with all different tech stacks, so varied experience, quick learning and flexibility are pluses on our team.

You must be able to and enjoy writing clean, secure code that all your current and future teammates will enjoying working with. Reading documentation, continual testing, and eagerness to have your colleagues test your code must be part of your programmer DNA as well.

Ideally you are available right now; however, please still reach out to us if your availability may be a little farther out as well.

We have a flexible and partially remote team, so working remotely may be fine.

Job Summary

We are looking for someone with solid experience in PHP/MySQL, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and Git. You should have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and be able to manage multiple concurrent assignments. You are self-motivated, creative, solution-focused and flexible.

Responsibilities and Duties

You will assist with developing web applications with the LAMP stack, using Laravel and/or other frameworks, including planning, prototyping, coding and testing.

Qualifications and Skills

Must haves:

• 4+ years of PHP development
• Experience with PHP frameworks (Laravel preferred)
• Intermediate experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript/JavaScript frameworks
• Comfortable working with the frontend and with responsive design
• Strong testing and debugging skills
• Comfortable writing SQL and working with relational databases (MySQL in particular)
• Experience with SQL queries and reports
• Extensive knowledge of OOP (Object Oriented Programming), Design Patterns
• Git experience (we use GitHub)
• Basic understanding of common web security issues like XSS, CSRF, SQL injection, etc.

Nice to haves:

• Experience working with external and internal APIs
• Experience working with JavaScript frameworks, especially Vue, Angular and/or React
• Working with responsive CSS layouts
