QA TESTER

Job Summary
Title: QA Tester III
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 18 months assignment with possible extension

Position Overview:
The QA Specialist will support the automation testing efforts for the External Solutions Team in ITS to improve systems quality, reduce time to market products and increase coverage. The incumbent will be expected to consistently produce high quality results that meet business needs, while assuring the analysis, design, and development are based upon requirements and desired functionality defined by the business.

Essential Job Functions:

• Create automation frameworks for web-based applications that are hosted on various platforms including cloud.
• Experience in Selenium, TFS/GIT, JAVA, Maven, Cucumber, TestNG.
• Make the necessary configuration adjustments to meet the automation needs.
• Plan, schedule, execute, and document automation test plans based on business requirements.
• Compare results and generate historical analysis.
• Maintain software defect logs.
• Ensure compliance with general coding best practices, accepted web standards, and those standards set forth by the Client IT vice-presidency.
• Participate in scrum calls and sprint planning meetings.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 6+ years of experience developing enterprise level QA automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, JAVA (certification a plus), Maven, POM, Eclipse & TestNG.
• Working knowledge of continuous integration practices using TFS or other tools.
• Knowledge of API Web Services in the context of automation using REST/SOAP/APIs.
• Experience on cloud-based application automation testing.
• Ability to do interpretation and conversion of manual test cases into automation smoke and regression suites.
• Good communication skills.

Certification Requirements:

• Java - not required but preferred
