Frontend Web Developer - Cargo Collective platform

We’re looking for a creative coder operating on the cutting edge of web development. We appreciate people who know when to use a library and when to write their own solution to a problem. You are not afraid to look beyond what’s already out there and have an insatiable curiosity about the future of web technology. While working with us you’ll be creating the interface between our members and the cargo platform, so a good understanding of UI/UX principles is important.

• Strong understanding of OO design and development principles
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and design
• Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
• Experience with node.js, angular, backbone, etc (or a serious desire to learn)
• Understanding of cross-browser development and it's inherent limitations
• Backend experience with LAMP (P = PHP and M = MySQL) is a plus
• Proficient with version control systems and their usage (Subversion, Git, etc.)
• Focus on building re-usable components, services, and patterns
• Organized coding practices
• Understands SEO and how front end development can affect SEO
• Understands website information architecture and navigation
• Stays current within the development community to track latest trends and emerging technologies.
• Strong eye for design
• Extreme attention to detail
• Designing cutting-edge websites to the highest standard, on budget and to deadline.
• Strong understanding of grid systems and responsive design systems
• The ability to transform client requirements in clean, simple and appealing designs.
• Excellent time management, problem solving abilities, communication skills, and solid understanding of the creative development process

Requirements

• Understanding of Cargo, its interface and design philosophy
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and javascript/jQuery
• Understanding of cross-browser development and limitations
• Knowledge of current web and browser standards

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $2,500.00 to $5,000.00 /month
