Contract WordPress Developer (Remote)

Zsofi Health Ltd. (“Zsofi”) is a functional wellness testing and education platform created to empower women with personalized data and education to transform their wellness journey.

Zsofi is looking for a remote, contract WordPress Developer to support our product development and marketing team. You can be located anywhere in the USA but Miami, FL. would be ideal.

Zsofi is launching to the public in Fall 2020. We have an e-commerce website and user-facing platform (“the user portal” or “the portal”) set-up. The first project you will be responsible for is integrating a rest API connection from our external partner laboratory. You will also be responsible for ongoing upgrades, improvements and expansion of our E-commerce WordPress Site and user portal. You will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the API connection with our laboratory partner and coordinating with their technical team.

The Role

The ideal candidate will be an expert in Wordpress, WooCommerce and rest API integrations. You should have strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript as well as ideally experience with conversion rate optimization.

This position also requires you to work with our partner laboratory’s IT team to establish and maintain a rest API connection.

We need team members who are passionate, efficient and work well in a team environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Maintain, revise, and continually look to improve all aspects of the WordPress website, WooCommerce store and user portal (content, architecture, images, graphics, keyword performance, lead generation etc.)

• Establishing an initial rest API connection with our Partner Laboratory and monitoring/maintaining this connection.

• Managing our WooCommerce e-commerce store’s functionality (integrating plug-ins as needed such as UPS, Referralcandy, Freshdesk etc.)

• Ensure consistent performance on all major devices/browsers, including fast load times, bug-free core functionality with a focus on mobile optimization and performance.

• Developing future iterations of the e-commerce website and user portal in collaboration with the marketing team (a graphic designer and design director) with a focus on improving the ecommerce website and customer portal usability.

• Editing site design and copy as instructed. on site design solutions

• Creating and meeting goals that are both KPI-based and team-created.

What You’ll Need to Bring

• Comfortable following detailed directions

• Confident in your ability to communicate clearly with others via video-conferencing and e-mail

• 2 + years of experience with WooCommerce and WordPress

• 2 + years front-end development with solid project-level experience with WordPress, HTML, CSS.

• Experience with JavaScript is required as well as a working knowledge of basic PHP and MySQL

• Experience creating custom themes for use with WooCommerce

• Experience with creating custom WordPress plugins is an asset

• A strong understanding of rest APIs with prior experience establishing and maintaining this connection.

• An understanding of programming security best practices.
• Although Zsofi is not a HIPAA regulated entity, we adhere to HIPAA-level security standards. We have the guidelines for compliance, but you need to be able to implement them.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Security compliance experience in a government-regulated industry

• Experience using MailChimp, Referral Candy and other WooCommerce plugins

• Experience with digital marketing lead pages and optimization

• A background or enthusiasm in the health and wellness space such as fitness, supplements or consumer goods.

• Data analyst experience to create a “data box”. We are looking to pull in various values to track Zsofi’s KPIs coming from e-commerce sales, site traffic, social media traffic and google analytics for Instagram.

Work Location:

• You will control your own hours and work remotely

• On-site meetings would not be required, but we are located in Key Biscayne (Miami) and can provide working space if desired while you’re working on Zsofi projects.

Independence:

• Approximately 5-10 hours /week for the first 3 months and then likely 10 hours /month going forward.

• This is a subcontracted position, which means that you will submit a monthly invoice for your services on an agreed-upon hourly fee.

• Supplies, equipment (such as a computer), materials and tools will be supplied by you.

• Working for an experienced, professional team including a prior VP Global Partnerships for an international digital education company and a corporate lawyer.

• A review meeting date will be scheduled 6 months from your start date.

• Additional involvement in Zsofi and bonuses will be up for consideration during your review.
