Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data bricks, and Azure Data Factory. Those are the most critical pieces.
- Demonstrated ability to establish best practices for secure cloud migrations for both Windows Server and Red Hat Linux server environments to Microsoft Azure.
- Demonstrated skill in both defining and refining encrypted database standards for Microsoft SQL Server along with Oracle 12c databases using Advanced Encryption. Delivering encryption key management, data recovery, database refresh techniques in an encrypted environment and taking advantage of Intel processor encryption hardware assists for both OLTP and decision support databases are key skills.
- Operational understanding of application architectures to evaluate both security and performance solutions when servers are both onsite and in the cloud. Key skills will be securing the network communication, evaluating performance improvement options from a network and encryption perspective.
- Demonstrated experience in a VMWare hypervisor environment to define best practices for both utilizing encryption support and performance features of VMWare.
- Demonstrated experience in a Azure environment to define best practices for both utilizing encryption support and performance features of Azure.
- Define, design, and build Cloud solution frameworks/accelerators/use cases that includes reference architectures, best practices, building re-usable components etc. Evaluates virtualization configurations and best practices to ensure performance and system requirements are met. Recommends cloud migration strategy and technical approach.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert and offer technical leadership & guidance to delivery and business development teams in the areas of cloud migration and technical design concepts in the Azure environment, including networking, high availability, server configuration (compute, memory/storage), backup/recover, performance monitoring.
- Experience with application architecture design with skill to evaluate application portfolios to create application migration groups. Skill to create a technical and architecture plan to support the application migration groups. Conduct Workload Analysis to plan for these migrations and align to the project schedule.
- Ability to work with teams to migrate application workloads to the Azure cloud providing guidance, support and technical solution reviews.
- Ability to provide expert strategic advice cloud application deployment, designing a private cloud infrastructure, private versus public cloud options, virtualization etc. Lead Cloud solutions decision making with a strong emphasis on the reasoning behind those decisions
- Participate in design sessions and exhibit Subject Matter Expertise in Microsoft Azure and other cloud Technologies
- Team focused to engage and work with Infrastructure Engineering and datacenter teams along with vendor technology teams to triage and identify potential solutions for issue resolutions.
- Act as liaison for Cloud related solution / implementation planning requirements.
- Interfaces directly with application teams to assess, track, and report on cloud migration request
Experience Profile-
- Minimum 4 years of direct experience in engaging with Azure and other cloud solutions and migration engagements.
- Overall experience of 10 years in Infrastructure / Application Services
- Experience in Migration from On-Premise to Azure is necessary for multi-terabyte systems..
- Strong working knowledge of Cloud consumption models and expense considerations.
- Experience in Cloud business use cases and workload types are preferred.
- Knowledge of Server Virtualization and VDI technologies is required
- A strong understanding of data center, networking and security best practices and concepts is required.
- Must be able to quickly learn several products across a wide range of network & security technologies
