Senior DevOps Engineer
GCS have just taken on a number of exciting technical openings with a world renowned organisation based in the heart of London. The role will be offered as an initial 6 month contract which will likely extend.
The right person will be an experienced DevOps Engineer who will help implement and expand the automation strategy for our clients global platform. We are looking for someone passionate about configuration management and continuous delivery and deployment technologies .
Key Responsibilities
* Implementation and delivery of automation technologies for the deployment and operation of digital marketing & ecommerce platforms
* Finding simple, elegant, powerful and pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
* Ensuring the highest standards and best practices in configuration management and continuous deployment and delivery are followed
* Active and proactive monitoring of the deployed systems to prevent problems
* Engaging with the Technical Leads to share technical direction & approach
Skills & Abilities
* Practical experience with configuration and build management automation in AWS EC2, specifically with Puppet (modules official and custom, effective code/data separation with Hiera) and Terraform
* Experience with Continuous Integrations processes and tools, specifically with Jenkins and its plugins, artifacts built as RPMs for automated deployment, Nexus or Artifactory
* Experience with the deployment of complex eCommerce and content management solutions. Specific knowledge of Hybris and Adobe AEM is a plus
o LogStash, ElasticSearch, Kibana (ELK)
* Git, BitBucket, GitHub and the related concepts of Pull Requests, branching strategies, best practices
* Ability to prepare POC (proof of concept) minimal viable configurations to demonstrate the pros and cons of any proposed solution.
Significant experience with current coding/scripting skills (Ruby, Perl, Python, Java, especially SpringBoot and Microservices applications).
