Senior C++ Developer - Remote from anywhere - rate negotiable/competitive
Mid-long-term (6-18 months+) contract position for a senior C++ engineer to join an Agile team to work with data scientists to take novel algorithmic modules into production in a cloud environment (GCP).
Immediate start, fully remote from anywhere (yet we require availability during UK working hours)
Responsibilities
- Implementation of core algorithms in a GCP environment
- Advising the architecture team on implementation best practices
- Working with developers to deliver optimal solutions to Real Time simulation problems.
- Participating in code reviews
Skills and Experience:
- Strong C++ skills, ideally C+
- Demonstrated experience of STL and Template (Generic) programming
- Experience with Boost Libraries
- Implementation of algorithms in a Unix/Linux environment
- Unix/Linux system administration for development workflows
- Use of Docker in development workflow
- Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and TDD
- Jira/Confluence or similar tools as part of an Agile process
Nice to have
- Python
- Stochastic modelling and associated numerical methods
- Experience of simulation development
- Understanding of geospatial data (Openstreetmaps, Mapbox etc)
- Kubenetes
- Knowledge of Design Patterns
