IT MANAGED SERVICES, SYSTEMS ENGINEER

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze and maintain the IT Infrastructure of internal and external customer environments; including network connectivity and utilization, Windows server administration, virtualization, performance tuning, backup and restore. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Maintain documentation of client networks and systems. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks and provides support for escalated trouble tickets. The position requires strong troubleshooting, analytic and diagnostic skills, along with good communication abilities.

MAIN JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Remote work mainly from our office. Occasional travel to customer sites (in your own vehicle) in the Wichita area as needed. Ability to do remote work from home with supervisor approval.

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and network topology, equipment, and configuration(s), including project plans, designs & implementation solutions.

• Create, request, and present technical specifications and requirements for purchasing of new servers and networking equipment via quote procedure.

• Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as needed.

• Standard system administration duties including server install, System/Application install and patch management, Windows problem determination and resolution, log analysis, etc.

• Configure, test, and maintain LAN equipment and services, including switches, routers, firewalls and VPN.

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems including network connectivity, traffic utilization, etc. using available network tools in a timely fashion.

• Provide Infrastructure services in all areas needed: storage networking, Operating System, network security, directory services, server virtualization using system backup and restore, system and network monitoring, application installation and configuration

• Stay current with system information, changes, and updates

SKILLS REQUIRED

Candidates should be team players with excellent communication skills and have the ability to manage assignments independently. The ideal candidate will have a nurturing personality and the desire to help in the development and mentoring of level 1 technicians.

3-5 + years of prior IT experience. Prior experience working for a service provider is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate by phone or in person.

Strong documentation skills

Candidates should have 2 or more years of hands on experience with at least 3 of the following technical skill areas, please revise your resume to highlight these:

Must have extensive experience in Microsoft Cloud Solutions, (Office 365, Azure, One Drive, SharePoint and Phone System), including experience migrating users to the cloud.

Network configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Design experience a plus.

Firewall & VPN configuration. Ruckus and SonicWALL a plus.

Working with Windows Servers. Linux experience a plus.

Configuring and managing virtualized environments. VMWare a plus.

Hands on experience configuring and managing backups. StorageCraft Shadow Protect & Veem a plus.

Active Directory configuration and maintenance.

Salary: $15.00 to $30.00 /hour
