DevOps Engineer - Designer / Builder / Automation / Operations
Location: Reston, VA 20190 - REMOTE Considered, Local Preferred
Duration: 3 months, potential extension
You must be a US Citizen to qualify for this position.
You are an expert with Amazon Web Services, especially with Site Reliability and Operations. You are a skilled engineer who knows specifically how to build, from the ground up, full automation and operational management capabilities.
You're also well-versed in and able to build and use production deployment pipelines using various tools, including GIT, Terraform, etc.
You know EC2, RDS, VPC/Networking, S3, CLI, Lambda, DynamoDB and SageMaker.
Hopefully, you have direct experience with managing AWS GovCloud environments.
And, you'll hopefully have a current AWS Certified Solution Architect Certification (Associate or Professional).
You'll need to be productive on your first day. You can do that by having the following in your background, and on your resume...
Required:
- US Citizen
- 10-15 years of related experience
- 5 years overall experience with AWS
- 2 years experience with DevOps style scripting using Terraform, Ansible, or various built-in AWS tools like Elastic Beanstalk.
- 2 years with AWS EC2/VPC, RDS, S3,
- 2 years of AWS CLI
- 2 years of AWS Lambda Development
- 2 years of AWS Core Capabilities (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SNS, SQS, Dynamo DB).
- 2 years of AWS IAM and Policy Development
Desired:
- Current AWS Certified Solution Architect Certification (Associate or Professional)
- Familiarity with the DoD CIO DevSecOps Reference Architecture and CI/CD pipelines.
- AWS Cost Explorer and Cost Optimization
- Kubernetes Istio, Flannel, or other CNCF service mesh offerings used within a Kubernetes environment.
- 2 years of Python and/or bash scripting
- 1 year of containerization/containers
