Freelance Web Developer Position

We are looking for an experienced front-end web developer to join our team. The ideal person will work with the Magneti team to code and modify websites, from layout to function, according to a client’s specifications. The right candidate will bring an excellent understanding of programming, as well as a strong secondary skill set such as SEO or PPC.

The Magneti team is passionate about doing great work and seeing clients succeed in all aspects of their marketing and communications. The perfect candidate will excel at our Three Laws of Gravity while bringing a level of expertise and dedication to our team and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Developer will be a great fit for Magneti’s culture and integrate well with team members
  • Role will have regular exposure to business stakeholders and executive management, as well as the authority and scope to apply your expertise to many interesting technical problems
  • Write well-designed, efficient, testable code by using software development best practices
  • Be responsible for improving and scaling our internal site
  • Always learning and bringing fresh ideas to our offerings and solutions
  • Give valuable input on the technical side of scoping to make sure clients have the best technical solution possible
  • Partner with designers and marketers to build beautiful and highly-functional websites that accomplish the client’s goals
  • Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
  • Manage the technical side of the development and launch process including hosting set-up and optimization

Requirements

  • Proven working experience in web programming
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and applications
  • Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks and stay within the constraints of timeline and budget
  • Candidate must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards
  • Constant communication with colleagues
  • Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units
  • Deep expertise and hands-on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS and PHP
  • Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to E-Commerce applications

  • HTML/HTML5

  • Familiarity with CSS pre-processors (such as Sass, Less, Stylus).
  • Familiarity with LAMP stack development
  • E-Commerce platforms

  • Strong security principles
  • Backbone/Underscore/Lodash experience is a plus

Secondary Skill Set Wish List (prefer at least one)

  • SEO – Understanding of on-page and off-page
  • PPC – Google-certified with a strong ability to set-up and optimize multiple campaigns for success
  • Digital Marketing – Inbound certified, with understanding of inbound strategy including CTA’s and landing pages
  • Design – Creative and technical design skills along with familiarity of Adobe PS, AI and INDD
  • UX/UI – Background in UX/UI that can be transferred to great design strategy for outstanding user experiences
  • Content Strategy – Strong writing skills along with a deep understanding of web content strategy and optimization
