Source Code Manager Engineer (Contract)

The Source Code Management Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Configuration Management environment, primarily in the areas of applications version control and build management.

The position will require the Source Code Management Engineer to have an understanding of DevOps and Configuration Management methodologies along with an expertise in Unix/Linux environments and scripting in Python. Strong communication skills are required as the candidate will typically be working with QA and Dev for support and new initiatives.

My client has continued to work remotely and hire through the COVID crisis and operate within a domain which hasn’t been adversely affected by these challenging times.

All stages of the interview process will be conducted remotely, as well as the onboarding of successful candidates. Once working remotely, you will have the full support of the management and technical team.

Your role:

• To demonstrate skilled scripting knowledge, write scripting modules and tests with minimal guidance. Design with guidance, and code independently.
• To identify potential opportunities for scripting optimization, provide input for scripting reviews, help with application build notices, review scripting to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues and defects and help to identify sources of defects, and troubleshoot anyone’s scripting.
• To show skilled administration of SCM tool and supporting infrastructure.
• To utilize patterns frequently, contributing to process enhancements.

The skills you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s Degree: Information Technology (Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical and Computer Engineering).
• 3 to 5+ years relevant experience.
• Experience in Unix/Linux environments, SCM tools and scripting knowledge.
• Experience/knowledge in Chef and AWS will be a plus.
• Linux platform experience.
• Proficiency with one of these Ruby or Python, Software Configuration Management tools experience.

• Strong problem-solving skills

Day rate for Contract
