Established company in the science/research industry seeks a Software Developer/Consultant for a 6-month+ contract. It is REMOTE but must live in the Eastern time zone.
Will participate in the design and development a new custom software suite!
The role focuses on custom application development, but it will also include integration with company's purchased systems and platforms.
Strong design, coding, and problem-solving skills will be key to succeeding in this role.
Responsibilities:
Work within the Applications Development team to design and implement custom applications replacing some existing applications, transforming others to be cloud-hosted, and ensuring all are highly performant and user friendly
Develops solutions to complex problems
Develop new features, enhancements, and bug fixes
Evaluate and implement new technologies when applicable to environment
Required Skills:
Full stack with Python/Django and front end development (ex. building user interfaces for database-driven web application). JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, Ajax.
Must have dealt with processing data from a browser and have dealt with delivering the output back to the browser or client
Hands-on SQL experience and SQL query optimization
Experience working in an Agile development methodology
