Senior DevOps Engineer

My client have a new opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the team (either fully remotely or with access to the London office.)

My client are specifically looking for engineers who:

- have a track record building out highly available services in AWS, across multiple availability zones and regions.

- Expertise in Terraform (written code and used to manage production infrastructure)

- Experience working in a fast-past environment for a company going through fast growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Influence the on-premise to AWS migration roadmap, drive the design and be hands-on in building the solution in AWS
• Develop tools and automate processes to provide a resilient and powerful platform for other software engineers
• Improve platform infrastructure by leveraging AWS technologies
• Build upon the existing Infrastructure-as-Code

Skills

• Proven experience in engineering and infrastructure design
• Track record building out highly available services in AWS across multiple availability zones and regions
• Experience of building and running containers in production using orchestration such as Kubernetes or ECS
• Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform

Knowledge

• Strong understanding of networking in AWS
• Strong knowledge of containerisation
• Experience in database technologies, e.g. MySQL, RDS, DynamoDB
• Familiarity with Go, Node.js, Python, or a similar language
• Understanding of monitoring tools, e.g. CloudWatch, ELK
• Up to date knowledge of security best practices

The DevOps Team is mature with architects, SRE's, engineers, and scrum masters. There is opportunity for an AWS specialise to join this team to help build the platform, and define the deployment process and improve an immature build-test-deploy strategy.

My client operates a remote working policy and allowed employees the option to work fully remotely or onsite from their office in SE London.
