Content Developers and Associate Tutors in Computing

Kaplan Open Learning is seeking content developers and tutors with experience in teaching subjects in the areas below to develop and deliver a suite of new MSc programmes in Computing.

The role of Content Developer of online teaching materials involves collaboration with our learning technology and academic teams, and includes recording audio lecturecasts, setting unit reading and designing assessments including discussion forum and assignment questions.


The role of an Associate Tutor includes providing webinar teaching sessions, moderating and assessing discussion forums, assessing work, providing feedback to students and answering academic queries from students.


Full support and training will be provided for both module delivery and module development in close collaboration with the programme leader.

The roles offer a degree of flexibility with remote working and hours that can fit around existing commitments.


Successful candidates will have:

Essential criteria

  • Possession of UK-recognised qualifications (academic and /or professional), equivalent to at least Masters level, relevant to the subject area
  • Experience of teaching and assessing at level 7 within the UK HE sector
  • We can only consider candidates who either have a UK based address and/or complete a UK tax return


Desirable criteria

  • Experience of teaching in an online environment.
  • Experience of module and/or course leadership in a UK Higher Education provider
  • Experience of module/ course design at HE level (if applying to develop course materials)
  • A PhD in a related subject.
