We’re proud to see our products have a massive impact on the insurance market daily… and we know this is just the beginning.

The project you will be working on:

This role will be remote (for the initial 3 months), and if extended beyond 3 months, then you'll be required to come into our office in Old Street (pending the COVID situation clearing up). You will help us spawn our automated testing infrastructure and drive quality of our applications. This is an exciting cross-team initiative that will increase the quality of our product while allowing a fast-pace engineering team to safely iterate on our product.

You’ll be focussing on the quality area of our deployment process. You will collaborate with teams to define the architecture of our E2E, Integration and Unit testing, architecting and scaling our testing framework. You will be required to gather context about the wider product space and business logic existing in the system. Your day-to-day tasks would involve thinking of how to improve test automation, understanding business logic from Product and writing test cases.

    The role:

  • 3 month initial contract with likely extension (fully remote due to COVID-19)
  • Contributing to our testing platform
  • Working with our Product Team to identify key features to test and transform that knowledge in smoke tests and UI tests.
  • Creating processes and documentation on how to write new test cases. You will relentlessly pursue quality best practices and help improve our testing culture among our engineering teams.
  • Working closely with our Product Manager to understand business rules and build test cases to test them
  • Suggesting improvements and introducing best practices into the team
  • Tech Stack:

We rely heavily on the following tools and technologies below:

API/Service Automation frameworks : rest apis, python, gauge (bdd), postgres-sql, kafka, jenkins, aws
UI Automation frameworks: playwright, typescript/javascript, gauge (bdd), jenkins, react

It would be a bonus, but you don't need to have prior experience in this stack. We are tech agnostic when hiring.

    What we’re looking for…

  • A proven track record in improving test automation, understanding business logic from Product teams and writing test cases
  • Strong experience with architecting and scaling automation test frameworks and E2E, Integration and Unit testing, including UI, APIs and Database testing.
  • A product mindset - you have worked closely with product teams in the past and want to be involved in feature design meetings with our product team and have an appetite to understand our customers and their needs
  • Previous experience with testing frameworks and tools. CI/CD pipelines and deployment best practices
  • High attention to detail and a strong quality oriented mindset. You believe quality is key to achieve success and you champion it across our organisation.
  • ASAP Start - please only apply if you can start within 2 weeks

    Senior Data Scientist

    RemoteSognef, Inc.

Job Title: Senior Data Scientist, NIH-Funded

    Company Overview – Sognef, Inc.

Innumerous scientific studies have conclusively proven that early diagnosis can exponentially increase the chances of survival and successful treatment. As it stands now, it is obvious that early diagnostics is possible, however, there are practical challenges in terms of the accessibility and extensiveness of the actual test. Sognef was founded with the intent of providing a solution to a necessity that has been overlooked for decades because of the regimented shape of the industry where costs are high, automation and accessibility are low, consolidation and comprehensiveness is absent, and markets are geared towards specialized physicians preventing proper and effective early diagnostics/screening.

Sognef’s vision is to have one, single liquid biopsy-based test that can provide early stage diagnostics for cancers, cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, infectious, and rare diseases in a consolidated, cost-effective, simple, and practical manner. Around three to five years from now, when Sognef has developed diagnostic profiles or indications for all of its possible target diseases, the goal is to be able to provide any individual with a single blood test that can screen them for a whole range of diseases from common to uncommon to rare in a manner that is affordable, simple, and accurate. In the event that the individual who is regularly taking tests, develops a disease or condition (i.e. pancreatic cancer, Alzheimer’s, COPD), Sognef will be able to catch it in its earliest stages.

For this role, the candidate will be responsible for designing and developing a bioinformatics and machine learning algorithm/platform from the ground up in accordance with provided goals and specifications. Such efforts, while relevant to the company’s core technology, will fall under the goals of an emergency SAR-CoV-2 grant from the NIH.

    · Implement bioinformatics and biostatistics efforts within machine learning platform to align towards specific form of data outputted by technology and clinical studies.

    · Realize a platform capable of effectively predicting a label or outcome for a provided dataset.

    · Realize a platform capable of generalizing well to new datasets.

    · Realize the project from near-conceptual design through platform fabrication, testing, and application. Additionally, identify and implement process improvements.

    · Not required, but if capable, develop software interfaces for other components of technology to provide more fluidity within the device pipeline and company efforts.

    Preferred Areas of Experience:

    · Experience in designing, writing, and developing machine learning and data analysis platforms.

    · Experience in data modelling.

    · Experience in bioinformatics and biostatistics.

    · Experience in designing and developing Bluetooth platforms.

    · Experience in computational biology.

    · Experience in computer science and computer engineering.

    · Experience in signal processing.

    Required Qualifications:

    · Candidates with an MS or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Biostatics, Computational Biology, and/or Computer Engineering with applicable research experience and expertise to carry out responsibilities, are preferred; however, candidates with a BS in relevant fields with the requisite knowledge and additional years of experience will also be considered.

    · Candidates must have necessary background (e.g., data science, bioinformatics, machine learning, analysis pipelines) and experience to carry out listed responsibilities without guidance.

Salary, Structure, and Potential Equity/Stock Options. Position will be provided under contract for 4 or 6 months depending on candidate under a yearly salary of $58,000 to $95,000 depending on the candidate’s experience. The contract can be extended depending on the current funding state of the company (plans are in place for a completed funding round within the next 6 months). Under this position, equity and stock options are available at the end of the contract pertinent to the success of the efforts and goals under the administration of the candidate.

Flexibility. The position comes with a fair degree of flexibility with certain tasks able to be completed off-site and certain tasks, especially those in collaboration with other members of the team and physical device production, to be complete on-site.

Starting. Two positions are available under the provided listing with final decision provided by the end of November. Ideally, the hired candidate would begin in the first weeks of December.
