I am currently looking for a Senior Google Cloud Architect, to help design and advise in a hugely exciting migration project, which is part of this company's wider transformation with GCP.

This will be an initial 5/6 month contract, with the view to extend further into this long-term project. The role location is flexible, it can be based in UK offices in/around London offices, or other EU offices.

  • You will however need to go to Germany at times for meetings, this may be once or twice a month. All travel costs are covered here. The role has elements of remote too.

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • GCP/Google Cloud Architecture. We need someone with project experience designing GCP, with knowledge of key services, such as ComputeEngine, BigQuery, DataFlow and more.
  • Strong experience with BI/Data warehousing. The ideal candidate will have a BI background, Big Data knowledge is also desirable.
  • A Senior consultant, with great communication and stakeholder ability. You will be working with major vendors and SI's, so this is critical.

This is an excellent opportunity to be a key player early on into this Google Cloud project. We are looking to set up interviews ASAP.

Overview:

The Developer will be part of data migration team working closely with the Team Leads and other Data Architect. Specialist will be required to work with multiple development teams and existing vendor to understand legacy and new data structures, develop migration routines, and perform data migration activities to migrate data from Oracle to Big Data Platform

Key Responsibilities:

A Java Developer is required to work in the data migration team to identify source data requirements, assess data quality, map and specify the required transformations from the source to the target data, validate and perform trial data migration in production, cleanse data and conduct a post implementation review of the data migration

Essential Skills and Experience Required:

  • Have demonstrable experience of successfully designing and implementing data migration, data transformation, data quality, modelling, testing and post production reviews
  • Have demonstrable experience of mapping source and target data models, identify gaps, data cleansing, schema modelling (Relational/XML/JSON)
  • Have demonstrable experience of successfully delivering digital solutions that collect and manage personal and/or sensitive information with appropriate controls and protection
  • Have demonstrable hands-on experience of Kafka, Apache Nifi, Graph Database, Java 8/11, Python, Micro services, Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Bash Scripting and Linux
  • Experience in working Agile methodologies, TDD (Test Driven Development) and (CI & CD) Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Experience in designing and building API with SOAP and REST
  • Expertise in Micro services and working experience in kubernetes
  • JMS or Oracle AQ knowledge
  • Working knowledge of various AWS services including EC2, EBS, RDS, S3, Glacier, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, Cloud formation, Config, SES, SNS, SQS, IAM, VPC and KMS
  • Experience in data encryption at rest and in transit

Skills and Experience Preferred:

  • Have demonstrable experience of successfully and collaboratively working, coaching and sharing knowledge with Public Sector client teams, particularly those with limited agile development experience
  • Have demonstrable experience of successfully design, implementation and migration of relational databases to Graph data based data stores and Amazon AWS experience
  • Have demonstrable hands-on experience using ETL, SAM

  • The successful candidate will need to hold valid SC clearance or be willing to undergo SC clearance
  • Must provide confirmation or evidence of willingness to undergo clearance if invited to interview
