About the Job

Position Summary:
This position supports software development and computer system maintenance, with an emphasis on applications for a Federal Government Agency.

The Full Stack Software Engineer performs software services on-site working alongside federal customers and other contractor employees. The Full Stack Software Engineer works under supervision, however they must also be comfortable completing independent projects with precision and within agreed-upon time constraints. This position reports to a Program Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Develop, maintain, and update scientific and engineering software applications.
Perform software development tasks, task coordination, testing, evaluation, deployment and documentation development of applications for satellites.
Experience developing in a technology stack built on Python, C++, Java, JavaScript, and using Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB, and RabbitMQ.
Perform science validation and verification of satellite products.
Perform software and database updates and configuration changes – documenting those changes in a GIT repository.
Develop and maintain software documentation, including operations and maintenance manuals, test plans and procedures, and future development activities.
Respond to and alleviate issues in the operational dataflow and environment.
Create and update metadata of web services.

Requirements

Education and Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology field with 8-10 or more years of experience in software engineering/development.

This includes:
Complex design, development, integration, testing and debugging, verification of accuracy and completeness of programs and systems.

Certification and/or Professional Membership

Software or Network certifications are desirable, but not required.

Security:
Must be able to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI); a federal government background investigation.

    Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance. From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market.  Each year approximately 120 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
