Key Role:
-Work as part of a dynamic team, providing systems administration specializing in the management and operations of a virtualized environment running on Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) systems in client support.
-Responsible for daily monitoring and maintenance activities including user administration, backup and recovery strategy, and event tracking for Production, Testing, and Development Systems on both Linux, Windows and VMware and Oracle hypervisors.
-Ensure normal maintenance functions are performing properly and execute daily and weekly system health checks and record system audit log reviews, as required.
-Coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure.
-Responsible for implementing and maintaining security standards and addressing any vulnerabilities that occur during monthly/quarterly/yearly security scans
-Provide new system solutions and scripts as well as Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities
-Responsible for implementing regular bug fixes and security updates as required for Linux and Windows systems.
-Manage required hardware platforms required for Database, ERP and Application server in development, test, training and production environments in accordance to established SLAs.
-Manage all application support inclusive to, but not limited to DNS, LDAP, Apache, Sendmail.
-Design, configure, install and maintain hardware including, but not limited to clustered, stand alone servers, blade servers, running VMware or Oracle hypervisors, and storage solutions including, RAID, and SAN technology, as needed.
-Provide technical support, training and technical documentation to the Information Technology team, auxiliary departments and contractors.
-Work with the Data and Network Engineers and other personnel/departments to analyze hardware requirements and alternatives and make acquisition recommendations.
-Document and maintain server configurations, scripts and all other relevant information in a repository to share information.
Basic Qualification
-7+ year’s experience in IT role
-5+ years of experience in Red Hat Linux or comparable Linux OS
-Basic/mid-level understanding of Windows Server, VMWare and OracleVM administrative experience
-Hands on experience installing, configuring, administrating and patching industry leading and recognized COTS and open source applications
-Experience writing Shell scripts and other scripting languages
-Excellent oral and written communication
-BS degree in information technology related fields or equivalent work experience
