We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Solution Architect with agile methodology experience to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client located in Northern Virginia! Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

As a member of the BEAGLE ASF Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation’s safety, security, and prosperity. CBP agents and officers are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity.

ASF programs thrive in a culture of innovation and are constantly seeking individuals who can bring creative ideas to solve complex problems, both technical and procedural at the team and portfolio levels. The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial.

We are looking for several Innovation Architect’s with enterprise architecture, software engineering, agile scrum experience, and project facilitation abilities to support application portfolios within the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as part of Agile Solution Factory (ASF).

In this role, they will have the opportunity to develop architectural products, systems and deliverables for the enterprise and operational lines of business. They will advise on the feasibility of large scale innovation initiatives to management for all phases of programs from inception to completion. They will plan innovations across and within application portfolios and advocate technological application programs to achieve long-range objectives. They should also have a working knowledge common, multi-tiered application architectures and legacy modernization approaches.

What you’ll get to do:

· Evolve BEAGLE vision by delivering a rigorous approach to innovation across the program

· Support and strengthen BEMSD’s governance framework

· Evaluate and prioritize innovative initiatives with BEMSD

· Evaluate BEMSD portfolios and maintain their compliance with changing laws, regulations, and security requirements

· Provide leadership in building and managing a network of resources to accelerate BEMSD and CBP/DHS mission capabilities.

· Provide expertise to ensure innovative ideas and emerging technologies are aligned with BEMSD strategic and operational goals

· Develop measures and metrics to ensure innovation projects and cross-cutting initiatives provide meaningful ROI for BEMSD (including cost savings and quality improvements)

· Perform technology liaison leadership to facilitate, collaborate, and integrate impactful advances in Artificial Intelligence/ML and advanced technologies for large-scale mission impacts across BEMSD and CBP/DHS

· Collaborate with end user facing teams to define technology migration strategies and approaches

· Performs Architecture reviews as required, ensuring initiatives are aligned with future state

· Proficiency in strategic planning, enterprise architecture and emerging technologies

You have:

· Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria includes, but not limited to:

o 3-year check for felony convictions

o 1-year check for illegal drug use

o 1-year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud

· 10+ years of IT and IT Management experience related to the role

· College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline. Experience acceptable in lieu of degree.

You are good at:

· Evaluating technology-based solutions to address challenges and/or improve operations

· Identifying opportunities for improvement across the program

· Driving continuous process improvement through introduction of new technology and approaches across the enterprise

· Preparing and delivering executive-level briefings for internal and external customers on enterprise-level topics, solutions, and innovations

· Understanding the motivations and interests of stakeholders and tailor discussions and presentations accordingly

· Discovering, understanding, documenting, and communicating both quantitative and qualitative value and costs of alternative solutions.

· Producing cross-functional process flows with tools such as PowerPoint or Visio

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $140,000.00 to $160,000.00 /year
