What you’ll do:

For this position the successful candidate will perform design, development, testing, and sustaining engineering tasks within the Microsoft .NET Core framework using C#, as well as in Python and Spark scripts within a Hadoop cluster. The candidate will also work with Kubernetes, Jenkins, Helm, and related technologies in their day-to-day work. This position requires proficiency with unit testing and the related tools (XUnit, Postman, Newman, etc)

  • Write and maintain Microsoft .NET and .NET Core software running in Kubernetes.
  • Write and maintain Python apps and Spark scripts running in Hadoop.
  • Create and maintain Jenkins-based software build pipelines.
  • Deploy software to our Container infrastructure leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS, and other cloud-based technologies.
  • Deploy software to our Hadoop cluster leveraging Ansible
  • Consider emerging technologies/innovations when helping to design software and architecture.
  • Participate as a contributor in an Agile Scrum team
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to aid our operations team when needed.
  • What you bring to the table:

  • 3+ years with solid foundation in OOP, Distributed Microservice Architecture and/or SOLID principles.

    Summary

    You will be responsible for the maintenance and support of existing applications and the design and development of new software applications.     An employer is looking for multiple Application Developers for our client in the O’Fallon, IL area. This role will sit 100% remote for the entire duration of the contract. The primary duty of this candidate will be to build and code applications and models using Java. They will research, design, develop and modify enterprise-wide systems and application software using Java. Other principal duties will depend on their experience.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    •Develop and modify applications, software, services, utilities, interfaces, and systems that support GFM systems and customers.

    •Document and resolve problem reports and collaborate with functional leads and customers to update and verify fixes in support of GFM projects and applications.

    •Work with functional leads and customers to elicit and understand user needs, analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.

    •Utilize configuration management to baseline code updates, and develop software using Agile software development processes

    •Design, code and unit test front and back end solutions for integrated Geospatial systems using packages such as in Java, JavaScript, and Spring Framework.

    •Develop integration code to connect and interface GFM applications.

    •Develop solutions that utilize open standards and ICDs to promote interoperability through service-based architectures.

    •Support the development and configuration of database systems.

    •Work with systems engineering and test teams to understand and develop solutions that address program requirements.

    •Assist in software design and architecture decisions.

    •Document design artifacts in architecture software, including class and sequence diagrams.

    •Participate in agile scrum teams through the agile process.

    •Work with systems engineering and management to establish user stories and closure criteria.

    •Participate in the software feature and story estimations using standard software estimation tools and practices.

    Minimum Requirements

    3+ years of software development experience with JAVA

    Experience with front end technologies (HTML, CSS, or JavaScript)

    Active secret security clearance

    Security+ Certification
