A Senior Financial Model Developer with strong C++ is required for a superb Financial Services corporate, to undertake modelling for Financial Instruments & Risk Management. The company is based in the City but all staff are currently working remotely. The position is offered as an initial 12 month Fixed Term Contract.


As the Senior Financial Model Developer for this hugely successful & award winning Financial Services corporate, you will provide the business with your C++ design & programming skills, using your mathematical modelling skills to model financial instruments and risk management.


With good communications skills, the Senior Financial Model Developer will need a background in Pensions, Banking, Financial Services, Trading or Quantitative environments, as you will work closely with the Institutional area of the pensions business and the DevOps team, gathering requirements, designing solutions and advising a team of C++ Developers in delivering effective solutions.


Responsibilities Include:

Providing designs and assisting with the business requirements gathering of risk management analytics functionality


Leading the steering of requirements for Business Unit what-if requests and actioning these using the AlgoOne system, suggesting innovative ways to implement model requests


Ensuring analysis and requirements are detailed enough to implement right first-time solutions, tracking changes to requirements and impact analysis to timings and plans. Own and drive business analysis of changes to modelling within DevOps


Helping Integration Engineers to develop customised solutions and modules in a range of development tools


Implementing reporting models and tools, steering internal groups into deriving new pricing and risk management algorithms and approaches


Skills & Experience:

Degree level or higher in Technical or Mathematical fields or equivalent experience

Strong knowledge of Financial / Mathematical modelling

Experience in modelling of pricing, financial instruments or risk management

Strong C++ Programming skills with additional Python or C# skills being a bonus

Knowledge of Data Science capabilities

Track record of good software design

Excellent written, verbal and relationship management abilities
