As a DevOps Data Engineer, you will be responsible for automating data processing using Python across a dual-cloud platform (Azure/GCP). This will be with a food grocery retailer who are in high demand.

THE COMPANY:
This company have recently undergone a digital transformation that has allowed them to keep up with the demand caused by COVID-19. They have seen an unprecedented rise in home deliveries and online shopping which has tested their current infrastructure. They have a data ingestion team and an architect who has recently migrated them onto a dual cloud (Azure/GCP). They now need a DevOps Data Engineer who can build pipelines to automate data ingestion and transform it into the correct format for the Analysts to use.

THE ROLE:
As a DevOps Data Engineer, you will hopefully have knowledge of both the Azure and GCP cloud platforms. You will be setting-up data pipelines in Azure's Data Factory while extracting data from the current Big Query warehouse. You are required to write quality code using Python and introduce CI/CD for automation. Ideally, you will be containerising the code using Docker and Terraform for infrastructure as code.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal DevOps Data Engineer will have:

  • Expertise using Terraform for IaC
  • Good knowledge of the Azure or GCP platform
  • An understanding of containerisation (Docker)
  • Scripting skills using Python
