Imagining Human (IH) is a science-based organization that specializes in applying the
cognitive, social, and neurosciences to solving real world challenges inside and outside
of the workplace. The mission of IH is to codify and apply the science behind how
humans think and act in order to improve collaboration, creativity, and performance. IH
was founded by a group of organizational change executives and cognitive scientists
with deep expertise around diagnosing and engineering change in human social
systems in order to improve engagement and productivity.
To support these capabilities, we have a growing body of data science research
projects that aim to result in better-designed surveys and assessment tools, more
accurate validation, efficient equating and linking, and more sophisticated predictive
modeling of the data.
IH is looking for a world-class expert in Data Science, with the desire and ability to
support quantitative psychometric and organizational research. You will join IH’s
growing research team and contribute to agile, ongoing development of exciting new
assessments alongside our psychometric experts.
We are currently seeking a Data Scientist to join our team in Los Angeles, CA (or
Remote).
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside talented cognitive science researchers and psychometricians to
bring cutting-edge, research-driven assessment instruments to life
- Oversee technical research and assessment projects related to product
development
- Perform data cleaning/preparation, management, and statistical analyses of
various types of data
- Design, develop, document, and deliver technical and operational procedures
and programs to run predictive and machine-learning models
- Assist with development of technical reports to provide summaries of findings,
interpretations of results, and data-driven recommendations
Qualifications:
- M.A./M.S. or Ph.D. degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science,
statistics, quantitative psychology, industrial/organizational psychology or related
field
- 3+ years of experience running statistical and/or machine-learning models at scale
- Advanced training and experience in machine learning, data science,
psychometrics, or equivalent
- Ability to independently clean data, run exploratory analyses, fit models,
communicate findings, and prepare models
- Advanced knowledge of data analytic tools (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SPSS, SAS,
Matlab)
- Knowledge and experience with survey/test design, measurement theories and
associated analytical techniques
