Wordpress Designer/Developer | Co-founder (Equity Based) (Remote)

We are seeking a co-founder to join our startup team. This role pays 5% equity over the first 12 months. This should be easy for the right person.

Who We Are:
We’re on a mission to help pets around the world! With our sights set on becoming the most authoritative pet platform available, Furzly leads the conversation about pet health and information while still producing media that reminds us how much of treasure animals are. How? We do this by empowering our writing community to create valuable, insightful content that can be leveraged on a global scale. Our success is dependent on having a community of writers that create stories for our educational platform.

Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a Co-Founder that we can trust and rely on. Someone that is going to lead this project with us and help us do what it takes to become successful.

• Over 5 years of Wordpress Frontend development
• Over 3 years of Wordpress Backend development
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Wordpress languages
• Ability to write, edit and read CSS and PHP

• Ability to write, edit and read HTML
• Able to use problem-solving to find solutions to Wordpress related issues.
• Able to design a custom wordpress page
• Someone who is comfortable working in a startup environment
• Able to clone elements from different web pages

• You Have a Passion for Pets: Since we are a pet site, this is a must! Our furry friends are our passion, and they should be yours as well!

• You Are Upbeat and Positive: Negative attitudes make for poor workplace environments (even in remote positions!). We want everyone on our team to have a great attitude when they approach their work and speak with other members of the team.

• You Are Motivated to Make Our Site Look And Perform The Best

• You Are Organized and Can Work With Our Executive Team: We all have late days and messy desks, but we want you to be an individual who is highly-organized and who loves keeping track of their tasks from start to finish.

• You Are Ambitious and Want to Change the World for Pets: You ask questions. You look for the details that others miss.

• You Are Communicative: You are always easy to connect with and have no problems asking questions to other team members. Although we are a remote team, we want people who are there when we need them and who are highly involved in the project!

What We Expect From You:
If you are the person we described above, that's awesome! Now that we have you here let's talk about some of the expectations that we will have for you in this Co-Founder role.

• You will work directly with our executive staff to work on enhancing our site design and functionality

• You Are Available to complete tasks in a timely manner

• You Are Active on Your Phone or Computer Throughout the Day: We have to be able to contact you in case we have any questions for you, or you have any questions for us. We usually communicate through Slack but will sometimes send emails or chat on the phone.

• You Can Follow Directions (But Are Not Afraid to Pitch): If you have ideas that you think would be great for the website, you are not afraid to recommend improvements to us!

Our leadership team has started a business just like this one before and sold it to a large competitor. We have the know-how, and there is little guesswork in this venture. So, what can you expect Furzly to do for you?

We plan for an early exit, and if that does happen, we will vest all of your equity upfront!
