We have been retained by our client to deliver a Senior Developer for a 100% remote work position on a contract basis . Our client has a Ruby on Rails web application code base, and an Objective-C iOS Xcode mobile application code base – both that need to be supported. This is a one year or longer contract assignment that can be done 100% remote. This is mostly all Ruby code, break-fix, light feature adds, but almost all maintenance and support and fixes of the Ruby web application problems all on Ruby on Rails, on Heroku on AWS (neither Heroku or AWS are required, but are a plus). 3+ years of Objective-C coding experience is required to support mobile app, and 3+ years Ruby experience is required to support the web app. We are seeking a senior level consultant to take ownership of this codebase, and work 100% remote, 8-5 pm, Monday thru Friday, central time zone . Working in Dallas or Texas is a plus, but we are seeking candidates to work remote from any of the 50 states of the United States of America.
For example, the customers use this Ruby on Rails web portal application and use this iOS objective-C Xcode mobile application to perform features such as collecting data, dispatching trucks and running reports. In example, there can be bugs, or performance issues, or other things broken that need to be troubleshot and fixed. There will be a 30 day period for learning the code base where you will have full back-up support during this time of learning the code base. After 45 days, you should be well up to speed on these two code bases, and support both almost 100% single handedly, on your own, at that point forward.
Paid-for Work Experience Required :
3+ years Ruby. We prefer candidates with 5+ years of Ruby. Some Ruby on Rails is required. We also like Groovy on Grails, or python experience, or other languages. 3+ years Ruby is required.
3+ years of Objective-C, on iOS, Xcode required, but a candidate’s Objective-C can be 3+ years ago. Current Objective-C skills are desired. But since Ruby is the key skill for this role, it is acceptable for a candidate to have objective-C experience a while ago. This is not Swift. It is Xcode Objective-C.
Central time zone, some flexibility to the hours but typically 8-5, M-F. We prefer candidates with some remote-work experience. Candidates need to use their existing Mac, with internet service, and cell phone service from your home / remote-work location. Work is performed on a Mac.
Candidates that live in the Dallas – Fort Worth metroplex are preferred, however candidates living anywhere in the USA are being considered.
