REMOTE Software Triage Engineer

Actively seeking 2 REMOTE Software Triage Engineers to support one of the largest companies within the automotive industry. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with embedded software systems.

Description:

Triage Test Engineers will focus on system level triage, troubleshooting, and defect root cause analysis of embedded systems SW within Product Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Analysis of log files to root cause and characterize software defects

•Utilization of defect management systems to triage and track defects

•Collaboration with development teams to investigate and help resolve software defects

•Provide feedback to test teams for creation and/or execution of test cases

•Report status of triaged results

•Contribute to team deliverables through involvement in agile scrum development sprints.

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Ability to understand SW architecture documents as well as structural and behavioral UML diagrams
• Experience with analyzing logs and root cause analysis
• Fundamental experience with white box SW testing
• Fundamental understanding of Linux and/or QNX, shell scripting, SSH, etc.
• Experience with a defect tracking systems (JIRA, Bugzilla, Rally, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Test Case management systems (ie: TestRail), defect tracking systems (ie: JIRA), and source code versioning control systems (GitHub)
• Experience with modems and/or wireless technologies
• Understanding of CAN bus technologies & tools
• SW development experience
