Title: Snowflake Database EngineerLocation: Fully Remote Duration: Contract to Hire (06-month contract then fulltime +benefit)Interview : VideoThe Snowflake Database Engineer is responsible for maturing the Snowflake Datawarehouse environment within the clinical organization. The successful candidate will be part of SRE group ensuring the Datawarehouse environment in Snowflake is Production ready and ready to support Business critical applications.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Creation and maintenance of warehouses, databases, roles, and usersManage and properly size virtual warehousesProactively monitor environment(s)Ensure proper security protocols across all environments(s)Provide support to development, data modeling and reporting teamsSupport deployments in Snowflake warehouses using CI/CD frameworkPart of SRE team and OnCall rotationCoordination with project teams, DBAs, various other department resourcesPrepares project scope document, project plan and issues log for the implementation of a new database or complex enhancement to an existing database.Develops and implements test plans that are comprehensive and inclusive of the problem to be resolved. Plans should include testing logic to produce successful and failed outcomesConsult on technical solutions that include design, high availability, data models and schema objectsOther duties as assignedSNOWFLAKE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:8+ years of experience in implementing Data warehousing solutions with at least 1 year in Snowflake1+ years Hands-on experience with Snowflake utilities such as SnowSQL, SnowPipe, Python, Tasks, Streams, Time travel, Optimizer, Metadata Manager, data sharing, and stored procedures1+ years Azure Cloud experience1+ years Infrastructure as code development using TerraformMust have hands on experience with user management, role-based access, and multi-factor authentication (MFA)Must have experience with virtual warehouses and sizingUnderstanding of Snowflake specific data typesExperience optimizing the data load processesMust have experience with backup and recoveryPerformance tuning and troubleshootingMust be able to work within company Database and Change Management procedures and standardsTroubleshoot issues and outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekendsParticipating in an on-call rotationMust have CI/CD experience using JenkinsAdherence to healthcare industry compliance for database security configurationWe cannot provide sponsorship upon conversionNICE TO HAVE:Experience managing large Datawarehouse
