A leading Global Bank currently require a Solutions Architect for an initial 6 month contract based in London, paying up to £900 per day.
Job Description:
The Technology Solution Architect is responsible for recommending and defining the technology solution architecture for the area, i.e., software solutions, technology platform, etc.
- Accountable for driving excellence in the delivery of technical solutions considering reusability, and non-functional requirements such as performance and security.
- Able to present and communicate complex architectural issues clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical audiences from senior stakeholders to agile teams
- Able to assemble a broad set of technologies and services to create a complete solution to a technical requirement: application software, Middleware, database, hardware, storage, network, and integration and leverage of appropriate cloud technologies
- Understanding of solution trade-offs such as cost, scope, timescale, and balance between long-term strategic and short-term pragmatic considerations
- Able to work with domain and technology experts to develop the detailed solution architecture required to be implemented, and to support the development team at a detailed design level - recognized as a subject matter expert
- Able to work in a complex multinational organization, interlocking with architects in related domains to drive the recommended solution architecture and alignment of technical estate.
The Technology Solution Architect is expected to have a broad range of skills and experience and may be asked to undertake any or all of the following activities depending on the assigned projects/programmes:
- Experience of designing APIs to operate in a (micro) services architectures, ideally using REST
- Understand and manage stakeholder expectations. Support team leads to provide clear choices and recommendations that enable both business and technical decision making.
- Maintain an expert level of technical knowledge in the required technical areas, and continually research and incorporate new technologies into their domain.
- Preparing and presenting architectural design and proposals to the appropriate review forums
- Responsible for identifying and documenting key architecture decisions and ensuring these are shared and agreed with other members of the architecture community and engineering teams.
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise in respect of the technical aspects of the Commercial Bank Customer and Regulatory Systems
Mandatory Skills:
- Experience of working in an agile development environment and with 3rd party suppliers
- Assist in the development of new products, product releases and product components through the use of appropriate and tailored architecture methods.
- Experience in technical solution evaluations, documenting clear choices, and presentation of the recommendations that enable both business and technical decision making.
- Demonstrable cloud experiences (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and definition of cloud hosted solutions. Able to articulate solutions implemented for the security, data protections, etc.
- Ensure solutions are fit for purpose and for strategy as well as meeting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrable experiences of presenting solution architecture and design to technical architecture or design forums.
- Able to work with the infrastructure architects to ensure the infrastructure will be aligned to the project/programme NFR.
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Excellent Presentation skills Able to demonstrate a successful collaboration with a distributed team
- Degree level education
