CK Group is recruiting for a Facilities Project Engineer to join a company in the Medical Devices industry at their site based in Blackpool on a 12 month contract basis.

The Company: Our client has one of the world's most comprehensive portfolio of orthopaedic and neuro products and services for joint reconstruction, trauma, spine, sports medicine, neuro, cranio-maxillofacial, power tools and biomaterials.

The Location: The role is based at our client's site in Blackpool which is easily accessible by car via Junction 32 of the M6 or the M55 which will lead you almost to the beach. Blackpool train links include direct routes to Preston, East Lancashire, London, Manchester, Liverpool, York, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The Role: The Facilities Project Engineer will work within the Engineering & HSE Department. Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager in Facilities Department, the project engineer/manager will be responsible for projects and facilities. The successful candidate will ensure that projects are evaluated, costed, implemented, commissioned and validated to meet the requirements of the customer and also ensure that facility activities are organised and implemented to ensure that the facility is maintained to the required standard.

Job Main Activities include:

  • Project Management of Site projects including
  • Project scoping
  • Cost estimation
  • Scheduling
  • Procurement
  • Design
  • Tendering
  • Construction/Installation Supervision
  • Commissioning/Validation
  • Handover
  • Managing facilities service contracts
  • Ensuring the site facilities are maintained in good order
  • Provide technical support to production and other departments.
  • Supervise and liaise with external facility contractors.
  • Work in a proactive manner to improve safety awareness and metrics.
  • Prepare budgets within the area and control expenditure
  • Keep up-to-date on technical innovations, advise on same and implement where appropriate.
  • Play part in continuous improvement within engineering department.

Your Background: To succeed in this role you will have worked in similar position in a GMP environment. You will have working knowledge of IMB/FDA regulations and a proven track record in the management of facilities and projects.
