Systems Engineer

We are currently looking for Senior Systems Engineers to join our team in Birmingham, Derby or Bristol, where we deliver dynamic and innovative aerospace and defence technology. Successful applicants will be able to develop and implement diverse engineering solutions in accordance to relevant legislation. Candidates should have a passion for team based engineering and personal development.

The initial activity will be to join a systems engineering team working on an Aerospace related control system software development managed under DO-178B.

The task includes:

• Analysis of System Level Problem Reports including root cause analysis
• Assessment of likely lifecycle and data item impact through analysis of Sub-System Design, Simulink Design, Software UML Models
• Validation of Design changes through MatLab Simulink model analysis
• Creation of Problem Report 'child' tasks in Change Control and Configuration databases
• Create, modify and review Software High Level Requirements
• Support Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews; presentation of solutions and analysis.
• Review test strategy for requirement compliance & analyse test results to confirm compliance

Mandatory skills:

• Experience in DO178
• Knowledge of Aero Engines (or similar subsystems in avionics domain)
• DOORS
• Ability to elicit requirements
• Experience of Requirements Based Testing
• Experience of working with UML models

Desirable skills required for this position:

• Knowledge of Integrity would be advantageous
• Knowledge of ARP4754 & ED-12.
• Knowledge of Requirements Management (e.g. IBM DOORS)
• Knowledge of Matlab & Simulink modelling;
• Team working in an Agile/ Sprint/ scrum environment.
