Our mission is to make biology easier to engineer. Ginkgo is constructing, editing, and redesigning the living world in order to answer the globe’s growing challenges in health, energy, food, materials, and more. Our bioengineers make use of an in-house automated foundry for designing and building new organisms. Today, our foundry is developing over 40 different organisms to make different products across multiple industries. In recent months, we've been inspired and heartened by the tremendous public health response to COVID-19, and recognize that a similar scale of effort is needed by the biotech community to find long-term solutions to this crisis. In particular, testing is essential in order to resume our daily rhythms: communities need testing to reunite their people and culture. Businesses need testing to reopen their offices and provide confidence to their teams and stakeholders. And schools need testing to be able to reconvene their campuses and research communities. To respond to this acute and widespread need for COVID-19 testing, Ginkgo has developed a SARS-CoV-2 screening service - Concentric by Ginkgo - that is designed to provide broader access to COVID-19 diagnostic testing solutions. We’re building increased Foundry capacity to support high rates of testing frequency for our clients, offering an end-to-end, onsite testing service designed to test large communities of individuals. Performed at high-scale and high-throughput, this additional testing capacity will be essential for organizations, institutions, and companies to be able to reconvene their teams and reopen their communities. A critical component of Concentric by Ginkgo ’s testing service is its digital portal, supporting the full customer-facing experience of the brand. Specifically, this portal enables test takers to sign up, manage tests, and view their results; customers to organize tests and view aggregated results; and test supervisors to run sample collection events. Therefore, we’re looking for a highly talented and versatile Senior UX/UI Designer to define the visual identity of this portal, and lead the development of its overall design system. With your expertise in mobile and web application design, you’ll help to create a digital product that seamlessly integrates with our Concentric by Ginkgo brand. Plus, your acute understanding of how to effectively communicate information to users will ensure that test results are delivered with care, confidence, and dignity. Working within a fast-growing team - on a product that will reach millions of users - your role will be key to ensuring the success of this important initiative. Please note: this is a remote position for a fixed-term contract, which we are looking to fill immediately. We are seeking candidates who live, and are authorized to work, in the United States.
