Senior SQL Developer - £450 daily - 6 month contract - London Charity
Your new company
A leading London Charity are looking for a Senior SQL Developer to come in and join their IT team for a 6 month contract to help to develop their data warehouse environment, analyse processes and to optimise the system for efficiency.
Your new role
One of your main responsibilities will be to analyse internal processes and make recommendations and necessary adjustments based on your observations whether that be proposing technical solutions, configuring application designs or tweaking process flows.
Also, you will demonstrate SQL best practices whether that be relating to security or the design of your processes and database structure. Aside from that, you will be have to create CTE's, stored procedures and views, all centred around you developing a greater understanding of the system and how to best improve it.
Lastly, you will mentor the more Junior Developers around you and foster an atmosphere of collaboration and support whenever the situation arises
What you'll need to succeed
Advanced Level SQL knowledge.
Deep understanding of Relational Databases.
Expert knowledge in designing, constructing, maintaining and administering data warehouses.
Excellent performance tuning abilities especially those regarding indexing strategies and complex queries.
Exposure to an Agile working environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Adaptable and are able to think on your feet especially when things don't go to plan.
Great ability to translate technical information to non-technical personnel.
Exposure to VBA and Python is desirable.
Previous / current public sector or charity experience is desirable.
