Your new role You be a key member in making the councils website more user focused to optimise the website usage. You will be required to use your accessibility knowledge to help make their website compliant to new legislation while maintaining sufficient user journeys and UX content. Checking and monitoring new content on the website will be an important aspect of the role.
What you’ll need to succeed
Experience working in a public sector organisation in a web content position
Experience of designing and editing web content on high profile websites and intranets.
Working knowledge of SEO and content marketing best practice
Excellent knowledge and understanding of WCAG 2.0/2.1 guidelines
Key skills for accessibility web development will include in-depth knowledge of web technologies such as HTML and CSS.
Ability to accurately summarise and convey complex information to a diverse audience
Understanding or worked on CMS applications such as Word Press.
