Infrastructure Analyst/VMWare Engineer - Horizon View 7 VDI
Infrastructure Analyst / VMWare Engineer / VDI Analyst - Project Work, VDI Engineering, VMWare Horizon View 7, Financial Services, Contract, 3 Months Rolling, £400 - £425 p/day (Dependent upon technical experience).
Global Insurance Company currently seeks an Infrastructure Analyst / VMWare Engineer to assist with a major project to transition a global Citrix environment into a new VMWare Horizon View VDI solution. This is a major programme of work an initial work will involve project related activities (POC and subsequent implementation into Production) involving VMWare Horizon View 7 and the existing Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop VDI estate.
Due to the urgency of this contract you will need to be available immediately or within 1-2 weeks' notice.
This is project focussed role where you will work closely with technical architects and project managers along with other VMWare experts to plan, design, develop, test and implement a new VMWare Horizon View 7 VDI solution across the global enterprise. Your involvement within this project will be critical and we are searching for an engineer to add hands-on expertise in the delivery of this new VDI solution which will require your previous experience of working with and implementing VMWare functions: App Volumes, VRealise Operation Manager, User Environment Manager along with core VMWare ESXi / vSphere technologies.
We are searching for an Infrastructure Analyst / Wintel Engineer / VDI Engineer / VMWare Expert who has gained experience in a dual project and BAU capacity and has gained experience with VMWare Horizon View 7. At the very minimum you will have delivered a POC and ideally you will have driven the solution into production and BAU from a hands-on perspective. You will be an expert with VMware possessing substantial experience with ESXi and vSphere along with Windows Server, AD/GP and ideally have had some exposure to the VMWare Horizon View tools including App Volumes, VRealise Operation Manager, User Environment Manager.
You may have been working for a financial services company, bank or insurance company, other large-scale organisation or potentially for a consultancy business where you have worked (ideally) onsite for a client involved in both project work and BAU. You will be able to work in a project focussed capacity and be able to commit to this programme to drive out the transition from Citrix to VMWare VDI and have previous experience of doing this type of migration. A clean install on VMWare VDI / VMWare Horizon View would also be applicable and appropriate.
Location is easily commutable from Brighton, East Sussex or Croydon, Surrey. Also from South West London (45 minutes from Victoria or Clapham Junction).
