Our client is a leader in the transportation industry and they are seeking a Junior - Midlevel UX Designer to join their remote team on a contract to hire basis (W2, benefits eligible) . Our hiring manager is an effective leader and mentor with rave employee reviews, and he is looking to grow his team.

Purpose  
The UX Designer will provide user-focused and brand compliant design solutions across multiple digital platforms and complex systems including mobile. This role will support application design projects so they meet industry standard best-practices, and ensure design recommendations are fresh, forward thinking and grounded in research and/or customer-driven data. The UX Designer will participate in agile design/development efforts and processes to allow the fast-cycling of technology initiatives.

Responsibilities  
  • Work with product teams and other UI/UX designers to support nimble application design/development that leads to intuitive, customer friendly user interfaces and experiences. New applications are designed, existing ones are redesigned, to suit customer needs. 
  • Execute UI recommendations and designs by synthesizing business requirements, system assessments, contextual inquiries, user data, customer interviews and market research. Completed sketches and storyboards, sitemaps, wireframes, workflow diagrams, designs, etc. 
  • Attend and participate in regular, ongoing meetings to share and critique design work, exchange best practices and communicate status of tasks. 
  • Regular attendance and participation

  • Practical / Technical Skills 
  • Strong knowledge of basic principles of visual design and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong knowledge of UX tools and applications that support design deliverables, such as storyboards, personas, wireframes, prototypes, and flowcharts (Sketch, InVision, Figma, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of mobile design
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS
