Your key responsibilities will consist of:

Predominately remote based role with some travel to client sites across the UK as and when required.

The Purpose of the Project Engineer:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for designing and delivering IT infrastructure solutions on time and within budget. To be successful in this role you will need experience of leading the deployment of concurrent, complex, multi-technology infrastructure solutions to be able to deliver a project portfolio for our client's customers.

You will be expected to work closely with other departments, taking on responsibility for the detailed design of complex customer solutions for new and existing customers and illustrating a broad understanding of infrastructure technologies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Achieve 100% utilisation and customer billing
  • Ensure the effective deployment of infrastructure solutions both on time and within budget
  • Build relationships with key project stakeholders and other technical resources
  • Coach team members to ensure that the knowledge, understanding, and importance of operational structure, processes and information systems compliance is clearly understood and bought into by more junior and/or less experienced members of the function

Skills and Experience:

  • A technical consultant experienced in leading the deployment of concurrent complex multi-technology infrastructure solutions
  • Customer facing experience with excellent written & verbal skills
  • A track record of successful technical delivery and of developing and maintaining relationships
  • Knowledge of ticketing & time entry creation elements of ServiceNow or similar service management system
  • An understanding of the managed services environment is an advantage
  • Has knowledge of ticketing and time entry creation elements of ServiceNow or a similar service management system
  • Is responsive and follows through on agreed actions and commitments
  • Has exceptional documentation skills, adapting style from asset capture through to design documentation and sales proposals
  • Prioritises workload effectively to ensure deadlines are met and customers are delighted
  • Balances technical possibility with operational supportability and the financial impact of the decisions they make
  • Has strong persuasive skills and the ability to share a common goal, gaining buy-in and commitment from peers and management across the business
  • Can troubleshoot complex technical problems in the related technical competency areas
  • Is commercially strong with demonstrable customer management skills
