Spectrum IT's Southampton Client are seeking an experienced Contract Full Stack Drupal Developer to come on board and play a key role in the development of the organisation's digital products and services. This is a Fully Remote role for an intiail 2 month contract with the aim of starting ASAP

As the Contract Full Stack Drupal Developer you will take responsibility for clean, secure code following a test-driven approach. Creating code that is open by default and easy for others to reuse. Ensuring the digital products are designed to improve and meet user needs.

Responsibilities

  • Development of clean, open and secure code using a modern standards approach competently.
  • Awareness and consideration for developing process efficiency and the common ways in which processes and templates are optimised.
  • To complete the back-end development activities associated with digital products development (for example, building back-end solutions for a high volume, high availability website with a yet-to-be-determined CMS architecture as well as other products).
  • Produce frontend production-ready HTML, CSS and JavaScript for use across a range of modern browsers and devices.
  • Develop features and templates from front-end perspective
  • Able to build and test simple interfaces between systems or can work on more complex integration as part of a wider team.
  • Contribute towards a testing plan as part of the Development team's workplan and go live process, ensuring developments work on all specified devices and platforms

Key Skills & Experience

  • Drupal 8 back end
  • Pulling data from databases (MariaDB and MySQL) into Drupal
  • Drupal taxonomy
  • Front-end development ideally with template engine experience (e.g. twig)

The Role

Our client is looking for a Email & Front End Web Developer to join their experienced development team.

The client produce high quality creative solutions for financial, travel and facilities brands to name but a few. The client creates brands, campaigns, brochures, emails, websites, web-apps and more.

You should:

Be able to build responsive websites

Have an understanding of responsive emails

Be able to work both as part of a team and independently

Be reliable and take pride in the quality of your work

Be fluent in English and be able to write competently.

You should have at least 2 years industry experience and your main passion will be next-gen responsive emails and websites. You should be someone who wants to be part of a team, enjoys the adrenalin rush of ambitious deadlines and has keen eye for detail. You’ll see the results of what you create in days and weeks, not months and years. Consider yourself a friendly, outgoing communicator and be someone who takes pride in your work.

Skills & Experience

2 years industry experience

You must have following skills:

HTML5 & HMTL for email

Javascript (jQuery, REACT or other framework)

Wordpress, Drupal or similar.

Desirable (not essential) skills:

Hours

9am – 5.30pm or 8.30am – 5pm, whichever suits you best.

Candidates must be within a couple of hours commute to the London/Yorkshire office as you may go in 2-4 times a month.

This role is responsible for the day to day management and on-going customer experience optimisation of a successful financial services business with offices in Manchester, Yorkshire and London and associated direct to consumer websites. This encompasses the end-to-end journey from arrival to purchase including associated conversion activities. The objective is to maximise the return on acquisition spend while maintaining a best in class user experience across all devices.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist UX and Optimisation Manager in defining and delivering the user experience for new websites, as well as optimisation of existing sites
  • Must be confident creating prototypes, wireframes, storyboards etc.
  • Should be comfortable using Axure or similar prototyping tools and have experience with Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Must be experienced with A/B and MVT testing for optimising online conversion through to sale
  • Will need to be comfortable communicating ideas to senior product stakeholders (Marketing, Underwriting, Operations, IT)
  • Work closely with IT to define and deliver the user experience from definition through to delivery. Including review and testing of the changes throughout the development period.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in user experience role or similar
  • CRO experience is a must!
  • Excellent knowledge of user centred design methodologies (wireframing, requirements gathering, expert review)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise in a self-managing style and ensure deadlines are hit - Agile experience is an asset
  • Confident and articulate communicator
  • Experience of working with multiple key stakeholders, including senior management, digital agencies and other online team members.
  • Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing external agencies to deliver user experience
  • Experience managing websites through content management systems (Drupal experience an advantage)
  • A good appreciation of the tools and technologies used to build websites (e.g. JavaScript, CSS, HTML, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, as this is a central skill in evaluating website performance issues, and quantifying their impact
  • A working knowledge of website tag management tools
  • Copywriting and visual design experience are an asset
