Embedded Software Engineer (Remote)

Sielox (www.sielox.com), a market leader of access control and crisis management software and hardware, is seeking a:

Embedded Software Engineer

C/C++ software development for embedded Linux products

Sielox is based in Runnemede, NJ and has a regional office in San Jose CA.

Location

Successful candidates may work remotely from nearby either location where periodic in-person visits may be required.

Sielox has been selling building access controller boards since 1979 – proudly designed and engineered in-house – and are continuing to evolve the product line with new hardware and supporting software utilizing the latest technologies.

Responsibilities include:

Role: C/C++ software development for embedded Linux products

Contract Duration:

Three months. Successful candidate must sign an NDA and Consulting Agreenment.

Key qualifications:

• 5+ years embedded C/C++ software development with emphasis on C experience.
• 3+ years Linux system and application development
• Multi-threaded application experience
• tty and/or USB communications
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash
• Experience with systemd startup scripting
• Experience with hardware device and interface configuration.
• Proficiency with git/github
• Self-starter with good communication skills.

Desired experience:

• Linux device driver development
• Docker container environment
• MQTT or similar messaging systems
• JSON
• REST API
• RUST language

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
