The product was second-hand search engine. The MVP was aggregated data from over 22 data sources, and phase 2 showcased user-generated content from expert curators to inspire and enhance shopping for second-hand fashion.

Being a Lead Developer, the responsibilities of this role were far-reaching. My business partner and I worked together on stages of the product lifecycle like initial idea, exploration, brief, content & events.

I handled writing the writing the technical specification, system design, build & hiring a Junior Developer.

The most notable project is a large-scale enterprise-level build. The client had a challenging brief that meant I was asked to be involved in multiple parts of the project delivery. They wanted a user-editable website, comprehensive admin permissions for various levels of staff and members across different regions, events and news pages and paywalled publications.  The project was discussed in meetings with the client, LGT management, LGT senior designer & myself. A project specification was agreed upon after research, input & discussion from all involved. Considering factors like spec., budget and timeline, I advised that WordPress would be a suitable CMS, and PHP suitable for custom back end code. 

Page templates were written in PHP, HTML JS & SCSS. Custom PHP scripts were used to handle comprehensive admin permissions. WorldPay was integrated as the payment gateway.

Other projects included: Diagnosing a hacked website by analysing network traffic & subsequent recovery of the website. Email signatures & templates for use in Mailchimp or other email marketing software.

illustrate.digital

Delivered 10 projects for illustrate.digital, a digital agency based in Cardiff. Spanning sectors like fin-tech, law, retail & eCommerce. They were advocates of official WP coding standards, object-oriented PHP and MVC pattern where appropriate - so this is how I wrote my code. 

I appreciated feedback on my code, embracing it as a chance to learn. Similarly, reviewing my peers' code allowed me to learn from them while providing insights to enhance efficiency and readability.

5 jobs, including the creation of interactive multi-part forms & building an embeddable interactive widget with Google Maps API integration for a client's website. Video & Slack was the preferred line of communication. Progress and issues were tracked on JIRA. The completed work was always assessed by their internal QA, with comments being promptly tracked and resolved.
