British Council

The British Council is the United Kingdom's international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities.
•	Led the MVP development of a multi-lingual web app for English students to book tests at British Council approved centers.
•	Integrated the solution with Azure Active Directory B2C by extending British Council's authentication system.
•	Designed and developed the initial version of a React component library, for the British Council's web portfolio.
•	Ensured the component library was library-agnostic by using React Context to manage form submission states.
•	Created a mock API framework to facilitate frontend development while backend issues were resolved.
•	Exceeded delivery deadlines while maintaining a high-quality codebase.
•	Provided training to the in-house team to ensure the project's continued success in line with the British Council's vision.
•	Transitioned to a full-stack role due to the successful delivery of a robust application that met all project requirements.

Earthware Limited solves real world healthcare problems through award-winning digital solutions.
•	Led the senior technical team to deliver a multi-lingual web app for a multi-national pharmaceutical company.
•	Delivered the app that engaged healthcare professionals with that company, on time and on budget. 
•	Introduced LINQ to enhance app response and future scalability, mentoring the team in its implementation.
•	Gained experience implementing a Web API with a mediated command pattern of CQRS, understanding its pros and cons.

Freshfields is one of the largest multinational law firms in the world, with roots in the 1700s.
•	Played a pivotal role as a founding member of the internal MyMatters project.
•	Designed and implemented a streamlined Web API architecture, simplifying delivery and reducing boilerplate code.
•	Developed a Normalizr solution in the frontend to efficiently manage complex data structures.
•	Resolved team issues related to HTML drag and drop by replacing react-dnd with react-beautiful-dnd.
•	Earned recognition as "the glue that holds the team together" from product owners due to my ability to foster collaboration and bridge the gap between technical and non-technical aspects.

As Technical Lead at Hellocar — an online car-buying platform founded at Founders Factory — I was involved from the very early stages of the startup. I helped build the product from the ground up and led the technical effort to successfully launch it. Product development was my primary focus, but I also developed tech to support other business functions, including marketing, operations and sales.

With Conversocial, enterprise customer service agents managed business social media accounts. I developed web and mobile apps for the CROWDS peer-to-peer social customer service product. I helped build the CROWDS mobile app from scratch, including the architecture, test suite and build system. I led the product from its inception to its release six months later in the Google Play Store.

Involved with helping the Financial Times support, manage, maintain and improve their existing systems and infrastructure for their in-house email platform responsible for the editorial, marketing, automated and service-level (user account-related), business critical emails sent to subscribers and B2B/B2C customers, with a rolling weekly average of 10+ million unique sends.

- Lead developer for a tool that allows FT staff to use complex dynamic content in emails, including designing the data model allowing users to create “bundles” of multiple content feeds into a single entity, with a full audit trail of changes, using Neo4J
- Developed tooling to manage our CDN and network infrastructure in code using Terraform, VCL and CircleCI to allow continuous delivery, introduced a strict review process as well as testing capabilities of our network traffic layer
- Revamped and improved system logging and alerting capacity across all our infrastructure, using Splunk and Slack integrations
- Developed a database migration script to aid in a time and business critical database migration for all of our MongoDB databases
- Introduced a more rigorous development routine and higher code standards by utilising shared tooling such as a team wide ESLint configuration
